ALTERnativity Christmas Carols

Christmas carolSometimes the old fashioned Christmas Carol just won't cut it.

In our community group work, we run a session where we ask people to rewrite their favourite festive tunes describing how they really feel about Christmas.

You can try this exercise with your community group too. You'll find the Christmas Carols Workshop in the resources section.

How would your Christmas Carol go?

Away in a Manger

Away in their bedroom the kids are asleep
As I sit wrapping presents, I hear floorboards creak
The stars in the bright sky, going right round my head
I feel so exhausted, I just need my bed

Christmas carol

Winter Wonderland

Sleigh bells ring, no-one listening
Down the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight
We're not happy tonight
Stomping through a winter wonderland

White Christmas

I'm screaming because of Christmas
There is just far too much to do
Kids gone crazy
As Dad sits lazy
Presents to wra-a-ap and go
I'm dre-a-ding a white Christmas
With every glass of wine I drink
May your purse be full and never light
And may all your Christmases go right
